“Consider
it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,
whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the
testing of your faith produces perseverance.”- James 1:1-3
The one thing the enemy wants us to do is give up. It is the
easiest thing to do in life. Think about it. If a job is too hard, quit it. If
a relationship is difficult, end it. If marriage gets rough, divorce it. If
school gets too hard, drop out. I am sure we can all think about examples of
giving up, probably because we have all done it.
Today is the day we GIVE
UP on GIVING UP! Today God is calling us to rise up against challenges. We
will all face difficulties and struggles. It is all about how we respond. Will
we respond by quitting or respond by standing against it. When we quit, it is a
sign of weakness. When we stand against the struggle, it is a sign of
recognizing we are weak, but we know the One who gives us strength.
We have a God that gave us the words “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But
take heart! I have overcome the
world” (John 16:33). Let’s embrace these words with power and strength. Let us
be ready to face our trouble, remembering always that our Savior has already
overcome the struggles we face. He just wants us to step into them with faith
in His promises.
If we do this, then our faith is strengthened in our God and
Satan’s grip is loosened on our mind. So, don’t give up, take heart, and keep
moving forward in the name of Jesus.
